Gifted & Talented Learning Opportunities

  • Middle School (Grades 6-8)

Students in the Gifted & Talented Middle School Program engage in dynamic, project-based learning experiences designed to stimulate creativity and critical thinking.

    • Project-Based Learning: Hands-on projects in areas such as science, technology, creative writing, and the arts.
    • Mentorship Programs: Opportunities to be paired with mentors in their area of interest, either in-person or virtually.

This program encourages students to explore their strengths, develop leadership skills, and challenge themselves academically.

  • High School (Grades 9-12)

The High Potential (HiP) Program for High School Students is designed to prepare students for college, career, and leadership opportunities. This program offers:

    • Dual Enrollment Programs: Partnerships with local colleges that enable students to take college courses while completing their high school education.
    • Personalized Learning Plans: Individualized plans that focus on students' academic strengths, interests, and career aspirations.
    • Extracurricular Activities: Opportunities to join academic clubs, competitions, internships, and leadership programs.

    • Regular Check-Ins & Support: Mentorship and progress meetings to track student growth and adjust learning pathways.

This program is ideal for students looking for academic challenges, real-world learning experiences, and opportunities to explore their full potential.

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Courses

For high school students seeking the highest level of academic challenge, HOPE offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses that allow students to earn college credit while still in high school. These courses provide rigorous, college-level instruction that prepares students for higher education and competitive career pathways.

    • Challenging, College-Level Curriculum – AP courses mirror introductory college courses, helping students develop critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
    • Earn College Credit – By taking AP exams and earning qualifying scores, students can earn college credit, reducing future tuition costs and course loads.
    • Enhance College Applications – AP courses demonstrate academic readiness and commitment to higher education institutions.
    • Subject Variety – HOPE offers a range of AP subjects across math, science, English, social sciences, and the arts.

Students interested in AP coursework should connect with their HOPE academic advisor to determine eligibility and course availability.
