HOPE recognizes that meeting the requirements of the traditional high school diploma may be challenging for older students who have not been successful in obtaining credits in the past. The Workforce Ready Diploma is an option for students who are 17 or older, in their senior year of high school and are 10 or more credits away from graduating on the traditional pathway. Eligibility for the Workforce Ready program will be determined by HOPE Academic Advisors.
The Workforce Ready Diploma program provides students with the skills and competencies needed to be an effective employee in the modern workplace. Students who successfully complete this program will earn the National Career Readiness Certificate.
The Workforce Ready diploma may not be viewed as a high school diploma by some outside entities. Students in this pathway must understand and acknowledge that it may not be recognized by some colleges/universities, military, and or certain trade schools as high school graduation.
Requirements for the Workforce Ready diploma fall in 2 main categories:
Completion of required Academic coursework
Minimum Scores on 6 WorkKeys Assessments
While it’s possible to complete this program within one year, it should not be viewed as a fast track or easier pathway to graduation. The program requires passing difficult assessments in a variety of subjects.
